This week has been a lot like swimming upriver to get caught up. My sweet Anniel is one reason why.
Anniel, from 2018

This post is a week overdue, and isn’t the post I’d intended to write. I’m overwhelmed by what’s happening in Ukraine, but what’s been making me lose sleep is my poor old puppy girl’s bladder infection. Between the two, “getting caught up” feels a lot like swimming upriver. I’m late on pretty much everything, with no real end in sight.

But you know, this time I know I’m not alone. I see lots of you out there, struggling like I am just to make it through. Here we are again, with the world seemingly spiraling out of control, and yet we still try to meet that deadline, keep the house up and the errands run, get something creative done, and maybe earn enough grace for a few hours’ sleep at the end of the day.

All without breaking into weeping outright as the horrific news rolls in.

That’s my prayer for all of us, this week. I might even get some awake-time to stitch it.

On the plus side, it seems major league baseball is coming back, for yet another partial season. Maybe I’ll be able to get excited about it once the SF Giants start playing, eh?

Take care of yourselves. And hey, check in to let me know what you’re stitching (urgh, more projects that are at least a week overdue). <3 Seeing yours feels almost as good as stitching my own!

Life is a lot like swimming upriver. Sometimes there’s no shore in sight, but you have to keep stroking, anyway.

Take care, stitchy-kin. And thanks for stitching with us.
