Your limitations do not define you. Isn’t it time you stopped arguing FOR them?
Limitations, a counted cross stitch sampler. The words "Argue for your limitations and they are yours" are stitched in bright blue, and straddle a trio of pink Mackintosh roses.
“Limitations” is based on a quote by author Richard Bach. A PDF copy of this original design can be yours today for only $6.95 USD! Click – Click – Mc-Click!
  • Skill level: Intermediate and up (you got this, I believe in you!)
  • Stitch count: 91W x 141H
  • Plus Mackintosh Roses!
A quote from Richard Bach inspired this sampler. If you don’t know his work, he is the author of Jonathan Livingstone Seagull, A Gift of Wings, and The Bridge Across Forever. The project is stitched in a bright blue, neo-calligraphic font around a centerpiece of pink Mackintosh roses.

Our gray cat silhouette is urging you to "Click here to buy meow."

This piece should be stitched on a high count fabric “over two” due to the number of fractional stitches. If you’ve not yet tried stitching on high count evenweaves, don’t be intimidated! Remember, arguing for your limitations only makes them yours! I believe in you, and I know you can do this.

Your Limitations Do Not Define You!

True confessions time: I stitched on aida for twenty years before I was tempted into stitching “over two.”

Witches Riding By, a design by Lavender & Lace. Stitched on 28 count monaco "over 2" by Alesia Matson.
This was my first project stitching over 2. Witches Riding By, is now out of print, but was originally published by Lavender & Lace. Stitched by Alesia Matson.

😁 Talk about “arguing one’s self-imposed limitations,” eh?

Anyway, I learned the technique quickly, and believe me I was hooked by the end of that project. I do still choose and use 14 count aida when I need a project to stitch up SUPER FAST. But  when the need is to focus on the DETAILS there’s no replacement for a high-count fabric.

Here at the Crossing, we recommend 28 count cotton “monaco” fabric for your first foray into stitching on high count fabrics. However, you should try a 28 count lugana if you prefer the finished project to have a softer texture and drape!

Kit this up and stitch it when you need a project to remind yourself that your limitations don’t define you. Remember, you are also your own BEST CHEERLEADER!

Or try “Maybe It’s You” if you’re looking for something with some hard-core snark.

Don’t forget — in our shop, you’ll always have at least THREE downloads of all PDF purchases available from our secure servers!
