Welcome to Crones’ Corner!
Welcome to Grimalkin Crossing’s design line for older grimalkins and those who love them.
It’s difficult to talk about these Crones’ Corner designs without mentioning menopause, at least. These charts were all conceived and designed during the last five years of my (Alesia’s) time on “the hellride,” and they reflect the snap, the snark, the wit, wisdom, and the experience earned in exchange for every wrinkle on my face. But, we’ve all seen how older women get marginalized once they age past being sexually interesting to the mass market. And while I like the push-back that’s been happening recently, I have to recognize that age acceptance is still not widespread in the west. Openly embracing my crone status in this way could possibly marginalize the popularity of my designs, too. Algorithms are written by very human humans, after all.
Well, guess what? I don’t give a dead rat’s *ss about any of that. And I bet you don’t, either. Today’s crones have a unique perspective on life too, one that “airs well” on evenweave fabrics, as it turns out.
Even if you’re not a crone yet, we’re sure you’ll find some of these designs to be terrific for “angry stitching.” It’s sometimes called “hate stitching,” and it is a thing for more than just crones. As it turns out, it is much, much cheaper than booze, weed, or therapy.
What you can expect when you open a Crones’ Corner design from Grimalkin Crossing
There are some similarities in the designs in this line besides the perspective of the designer, and any future charts added to this category will feature them, too.
- Large, easy-to-read grids, printable in color or in grayscale
- Limited color palettes
- Color keys and instructions are on the back page, every time
- The inclusion of art nouveau and art deco elements, such as font, color choices, and design motifs
- Something snappy, silly, or snarky in the legend
- Every now and again, a nugget of wisdom might slip through, too.
Without further ado, take a gander at these designs!
If you or someone you love is in her mid to late 40’s, here’s how you can get better educated on what we currently know about menopause and its effects. I wish someone had taken the time to point a link like this out to me, when I began what everyone used to call “the Change.” Pass it on to someone you love today!
